This is honestly my first time hearing this record & I'm 55 and have been a VH fanatic since I was 10. Sorry, I just lost interest after the boring album that Balance was. Plus, knowing Gary's voice already I figured it was going to sound a lot like Sammy ( it does) Anyway, there's some good moments on here but the fire is gone. Nothing on this grabs me. There's no Atomic Punk or Sucker in a 3 piece, or anything like that. It just sounds like Ed was heading more towards AOR rock. Sorry but Van Halen trying to write top 40 stuff is both obvious and contrived. Not really digging it.

I am 27, here are my observations. Started this album many times. But just listened to the whole thing for the first thing. Album art is 10/10. Most songs are fairly simple riffs. Lead guitar is one of the best tones I've ever heard. And the biggest surprise was the last track. This album is a piece of art.
